In the past, Iraq has had issues meeting the enormous demand for energy in the region. To remedy this problem, Mass Energy will use GE’s digital solutions to help improve Iraq’s infrastructure and increase the reliability of their power grid.

The multi-year agreement between Mass Energy and GE will optimize plant performance at every level of their 3 GW gas-fired Basmaya Power Plant and allow the company to meet the demands of the region through increases in productivity, reliability and efficiency.

GE Gas Power signed a multi-year agreement with Iraq’s Mass Energy Group Holding worth $520 million. The agreement will enhance plant performance at every level, and provide digital industrial solutions to manage risk, reduce downtime and expand the capabilities of their 3 gigawatt (GW) gas-fired Basmaya Power Plant located near Baghdad.
Infrastructure must be sustainable to benefit future generations and enable economic growth. GE’s goal of delivering results in an uncertain world also serves as the foundation for action to improve reliability, increase productivity and to meet regional goals.

To improve plant performance, GE’s Predix-powered, Asset Performance Management (APM) software application will draw data to monitor, analyze, enhance and predict equipment health, delivering key insights vital to Mass Energy Group Holding and Iraq’s Ministry of Electricity’s operational objectives. Providing equipment-agnostic service solutions is an important part of any long-term asset management strategy.
